Kitchen Bench

Kitchen Bench

I’ve recently made and installed a large 3m x 1.1m kitchen bench out of reclaimed timber for a beautiful family undertaking a kitchen renovation.

This timber was rescued from a home knockdown in Wentworthville, Sydney (see images of before / after). It’s such a great feeling to repurpose old timber and give it a new chapter that you just know will go for generations to come.
Once I milled this timber, I found some of the most gorgeous character rich grain I’ve seen. I retained the natural and historical features (nail holes, etc) and filled all holes with glass so they wouldn’t be a food trap. The bench was oiled with a natural food safe hard wax and straightening bars used on the underside to ensure movement can take place without cupping.

If you’re planning a kitchen renovation, please consider me to make something equally memorable for you.

Get in touch with your dimensions and I'll be only too happy to provide an estimate.
